Our Grace and Beauty tour traces the religious residues in Santorini and invites guests to familiarize themselves with the hardships of life on this isolated rock as well as to witness the incredible ways in which our fellow humans have learned to overcome them.

Transfer to Mesa Gonia.
- 10:20 – 11:00
Visit to the Church of Panagia Episkopi, a Byzantine-era cathedral that dates back to the year 1115 AD and many accounts attribute the commissioning of the church to Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos. Today, the church boasts a treasured collection of frescoes and iconography, the crown jewel of which is a 12th century icon known as Panagia Glykofilousa.

Transfer to Vothonas settlement. On the way travelers will observe the many settlements built into caves that once protected Santorini’s residence from harsh weather and pirates.

Visit the rock-curved Church of Panagia Sergena. This outstanding church is only accessible via a wooden ladder that could be retracted when enemies were nearby. Today, the church serves as the site of many festivals during the year.

Transfer to the village of Pyrgos, the home to the island’s most impressive historical and cultural sites, which happens to provide breathtaking panoramic views of the entire island.

Visit to the Spira Marble Art Gallery (S.M.A.G.) where you will meet the famed sculptor Grigoris Kouskouris. Grigoris will demonstrate the traditional techniques of his craft, and showcase how he has built on these time-honored practices to create his own unique style and art. Witnessing Grigoris’ skill and grace, you will conclude the tour with a taste of Santorini hospitality over some delectable mezedes.
